Andrei Kurkov
Ukrainian Russian-language writer and former president of PEN Ukraine, he has more than 25 published works and is currently one of the most important writers in his country. In 1994 he published Death with a Penguin (Blackie Books, 2017), his most recognized novel, which quickly became a best seller and was translated into more than thirty languages. He has also translated into Spanish Ochakov's Gardener (Blackie Books, 2019) and Diary of an Invasion (Debate, 2022). His articles have appeared in media such as The Guardian and Eldiario.es. For almost ten years his books have been banned in Russia and as a result of the invasion of Ukraine he had to flee Kiev.
